Proxa Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Proxa is an app for meeting people who are near you in real life. It is made by YEIXIO LLC ("Yeix", "we"). This policy covers the Proxa app for iPhone and Android. The rest of the yeix.io website has its own privacy policy.
The short version: Proxa has no sign-up, no accounts and no servers. What you put in Proxa stays on your phone, and it only leaves your phone over Bluetooth, to other phones nearby, while you choose to be Live. Yeix never receives it.
What we never collect
Proxa does not ask for, collect or send us:
- •your phone number, email address, real full name or birthday
- •your location (Proxa doesn't use GPS or location permission; it finds people with Bluetooth only)
- •your contacts, photos, camera or microphone
- •advertising IDs, and it doesn't track you across apps or websites
- •analytics, ad or crash-reporting tools that collect identifiers: Proxa includes none
Proxa has no servers, so there is no account, profile, message or location history held by Yeix.
What stays on your phone
Proxa keeps these on your phone only:
- •your profile: first name, color pin, a short note, and the optional details you choose (what you're here for, an age range, interests, group size, and, only if you're here for dating, gender and who you'd like to meet)
- •the people you blocked and the people you saved as contacts
- •today's list of people you were near, waves and chat messages, which is cleared at the end of each day
- •a check-in timer, if you set one, and venue settings, if a business uses Proxa as a venue
- •an emergency contact's name and phone number, if you add one; Proxa only uses it to open a text to them when you tap the emergency button, and never sends it to anyone
- •that you confirmed you're 18 or older
- •a random device ID, used so your blocks keep working (see below)
What nearby phones can see while you're Live
You're only visible when you tap Go Live, and only for the time you pick. While you're Live, Proxa sends a small profile card over Bluetooth that any phone in Bluetooth range (roughly the size of a room or a patio) can read. It contains your first name, pin, note, the optional profile details you filled in, your device ID and a one-time chat key. Only put things in your profile that you're happy for people around you to see.
Waves and chat messages go straight from your phone to the other person's phone over Bluetooth. They are end-to-end encrypted with a new key every time you go Live, so other phones nearby can't read them, and they never pass through Yeix. The person you chat with has their copy on their phone.
Notifications (someone waved, a new message, a saved contact is around again, your check-in timer) are made on your phone. Proxa doesn't use push notification servers.
The device ID and blocking
Your device ID is a random code, not your phone's serial number or advertising ID. On iPhone it is a random value kept in the iOS keychain; on Android it is a scrambled (hashed) form of the ID Android gives each app. It lets your blocks keep working even if the person you blocked deletes and reinstalls Proxa, and it lets other people's blocks keep working against you. Because of that, it can stay the same after you delete and reinstall the app.
The list of removed devices
Now and then, at most every few hours and only when you open the app, Proxa downloads a public list of devices we've removed from Proxa for breaking its rules, from yeix.io. Everyone gets the same list. The request carries no cookies, device ID or anything else about you; like any web request, it includes your IP address, which the companies that host yeix.io (DigitalOcean and Amazon Web Services) may log briefly. We don't use it to identify or track you.
Reports and emails to us
When you report someone, Proxa blocks them and opens a pre-filled email to info@yeix.io with the reason, the name they showed, their device ID and any details you add. Nothing is sent unless you send that email. We use reports and other emails only to respond to you and to keep people safe, which can include passing a report to the police when someone may be in danger or the law requires it. We delete them when they are no longer needed for that.
Apple and Google
Apple and Google run the stores you download Proxa from. If you've allowed it in your phone's settings, they may share anonymous, aggregated statistics and crash reports with us under their own privacy policies. Those don't identify you to us.
Deleting your data
In Proxa, go to Your profile and tap Delete everything to erase your profile, blocks, contacts, today's people and messages from your phone. Deleting the app also removes them. Because nothing is stored with Yeix, there's nothing for us to delete; if you emailed us, ask at info@yeix.io and we'll delete those emails.
Adults only
Proxa is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly let anyone younger use it. If you believe someone under 18 is using Proxa, report them in the app or email info@yeix.io.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above, and mention important changes in the app's release notes. Questions: info@yeix.io (YEIXIO LLC).
