Toskar · Set up and supported by Yeix
An office assistant that stays in your building.
Toskar answers questions from your own documents, on computers you own, so customer details, contracts, and internal files never go to an outside company. We size the hardware, install it, connect it to your work, and keep it running.
Why keep it in the office
Your documents, your computers, your rules
Customer details stay with you
Chats, documents, and notes stay on your computers. Nothing goes to an outside company unless you turn on web search or connect a service, and Toskar lists everything that left.
No bill per person
You buy the hardware once instead of paying a monthly subscription for every employee. Toskar Core is free and open source.
Works with what you use
People ask it questions in a browser, and other software (including coding tools) can use it with its own key.
How it works
Sized, set up, and looked after
- 01
We size it
How many people, what they'll ask, and which documents it should read decide the hardware: often one well-equipped Mac or a PC with a graphics card. You get a plain-language plan and a parts list before you buy anything.
- 02
We set it up
We install Toskar, pair your computers, connect your documents, give the office a secure address, and sign each person in, with a key for any other app. On site in Juneau, or remotely.
- 03
We keep it running
Updates, better models as they come out, backups, and a person to call when something looks off.
Running it yourself? Toskar is free to install, and toskar.ai has the downloads and guides.

Questions
What people ask first
- What is Toskar?
- Software that runs AI models on computers you already own or buy once. It reads your documents, works across several computers as one, and gives people and apps a private place to ask questions. Toskar Core is open source.
- What does setup cost?
- It depends on the hardware and how much we connect. Tell us how many people and what you'd use it for, and we'll send a quote with hardware options side by side. Toskar itself has no license fee.
- Which computer do we need?
- The more it needs to know, the more memory it needs. A Mac with plenty of memory or a PC with a strong graphics card covers most small offices, and more computers can be added later.
- Does anything leave our office?
- Not unless you allow it. Answers come from your own computers. Web search and connected services are off until you turn them on, and Toskar shows everything that left.
- Can everyone in the office use it?
- Yes. Each person signs in with their own account, by an invite link or your Google or Microsoft sign-in, and their chats and notes are theirs alone. Documents and tools are shared, and roles decide who can change them.
- Do you only work in Alaska?
- No. We set Toskar up remotely anywhere, and on site in Juneau and Southeast Alaska.
